Review by Alex Fisher, Editor, Coast Magazine, added 7/9/14: Absolutely love it!The bag is brilliant. My husband, who went surfing yesterday and tried it out, has bag envy! We happen to be doing a sea swimming feature in the next issue, this is completely perfect for this - would recommend it to everyone! Absolutely love it!
Review by OCC Outdoor magazine, added 6/24/14: tough as nailsThe TOCCOA day sack range was designed specifically with water in mind. Don't let the good looks fool you. It is as tough-as-nails. A vinyl construction deals with the rigours of the trail and the all welded body handles the wet. The TOCCOA is packed with the kind of features borne of hard won experience - breathable mesh straps and padding, roll-down seal with side (compression) or top (maximum volume) closure and a grab handle, to name just three.
Review by Benosh.com, added 5/29/14: Check it out right awayNeed to keep your gear dry, no matter what? You may need to check out Aquapac’s Tocca Daypack. Coming in a nice 28L size that’s perfect for a day pack, we had the chance to check out the Toccoa in a variety of settings.
Obviously, the storyline here is the Aquapac’s waterproofing. This isn’t just for rain, folks, this is for anything where you and your gear are going to get seriously soaked. Your ocean-side adventures aren’t complete without being able to get out on the water with your gear safely packed away. If you live close to the water or anywhere that gets significant amounts of rain, this is your pack–Aquapac rates the Toccoa as “stormproof” and gives it an IPX 6, just one rating above submersible.
There’s no question that this pack exchanges some style and some measure of traditional pack functionality for its hydrophobic capabilities. Forget about smaller pouches and other luxuries that would compromise the waterproofing. However, the main storage area is large and easy to access, and the tough 500D vinyl is up handing whatever you throw at it. Lash points, mesh pockets, and webbing will have to suffice and honestly do a great job.
The Toccoa Daypack runs $75, which is probably about spot on for a day pack that keeps your gear dry with this level of capability. Check it out right away, and stay dry no matter what!
Review by BustedWallet.com - Essentials: Summer Camping '14, added 5/29/14: Not your ordinary run-of-the-mill backpackNot your ordinary run-of-the-mill backpack, the Aquapac Toccoa Daysack is a waterproof dry bag designed to keep your camping essentials high and dry no matter where your adventures take you. Built to go wherever you’d like to take it, the Toccoa is essentially an over sized dry bag with a shoulder harness system. Great for kayak and canoe trips, this pack is more comfortable than it looks and at 28L, is big enough to haul quite a bit of equipment and gear. Currently it’s our go-to kayaking pack, but could see good use for it as a day pack on short excursions in inclement weather as well. The shoulder harness system makes it pretty functional – I think we’ll be getting a lot more use out of it as the summer goes on.
